Class A Uniform
The Cub Scout uniform shirt is an important part of the Cub Scout method and a great way for the Scouts to show off their achievements and awards. The BSA Official pants, shorts, socks, and belts are not required by our Pack.
Lion Cubs have a specific T-shirt and do not wear the Class A uniform.
Tigers, Wolves, Bears, and Webelos wear the blue Class A uniform.
Arrow of Light wear the tan Class A uniform.
Class B Uniform
Our pack has T-shirts available for both kids and adults with our logo. Any Scouting T-shirt, in good condition, is acceptable.
—Pack 4480 encourages, but does not require, Scouts to wear either a Class A or Class B uniform to most den/pack meetings and events. —
A limited number of gently worn uniform shirts may be available from the Pack. Scouts are asked to donate their outgrown shirts to the Pack when possible.
Handbooks
The purchase of a Cub Scout handbook is NOT recommended by our pack due to the increasing costs of the books. Pack 4480 uses scoutbook.org to track each Scout’s advancements and progress. Parents can download the Scouting app to track their Scout’s progress and sign-off requirements. Handbooks do have some nostalgic value but are not required in Pack 4480.
Awards
Cub Scouts are awarded patches, loops, pins, and medals for various activities. Pack 4480 will cover the costs of these awards. Most awards are wearable on the Class A uniform but some are not, see the Uniform Insignia Guide for more information. A Scout can choose to put their additional insignia on a red felt vest, either store bought or homemade, and wear that vest over the Class A uniform.
As a parent, you want to be assured that the groups that your child joins will teach values consistent with good citizenship, character development, personal fitness, and leadership. The values we seek to instill are found in the scout law.
A Scout is
Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean, and Reverent.
